Gary Blom: Australian Businessman

Gary Blom is a successful businessman and entrepreneur, who has over three decades of experience in the Australia & the USA. Gary’s current venture National Property Group focuses on providing property data to organizations and individuals. Having garnered experience from the many sectors and workforces over his career Gary is now giving his time and attention to providing expert data and analysis to property professional via his latest venture.

In 1978, he founded The Computer Company. It was a company that distributed personal and micro computers, peripherals, software and hardware across Australia. The Computer Company was a sole distributor for microcomputers and personal computers in the country. Apart from distributing software & hardware, the company was the exclusive distribution for Mitsubishi and Panasonic computers. Gradually, the company rose to become a force in the computer market in Australia. It was the first company located outside Japan to market and distribute microcomputers made in Japan. Panasonic and Mitsubishi computers were distributed by The Computer Company and was a test market for both these companies . One of the highlights of this project was being involved in the development of the Panasonic computers, along with Bill Gates. His involvement was very instrumental in the development of Panasonic computers and which was one the first to use the Microsoft operating systems, as it was the first company to sell Japanese microcomputers and PC’s outside of Japan . Gary Blom ended up selling the company to Singer Corporation after some years.

In 1981, Gary Blom was the founder of the software company Attache’ Software. The company, is one of the oldest software companies in Australia. The focal point for Attaché Software was providing accounting software packages to small businesses who used IBM and IBM compatible computers. In Australia, Gary Blom had a close relationship with IBM . He also negotiated contracts with IBM computers in the United States and Canada to provide software. After one year Attaché Software began to expand and moved it’s headquarters to Michigan in the United States This project set a milestone in Australia’s software industry, being one of the oldest software companies still operating to this day.

Gary Blom’s next venture was Corporate Capital Group, Inc., located in both Michigan & New York .,The company provided financial advisory services to Australian and New Zealand company who wanted to expand their businesses into the United States. This business became a key financial consultancy business in the industry, helping over 40 companies in Australia or New Zealand. Having gained experience by working with several US-based companies and establishing many companies himself, Gary Blom decided to assist companies in establishing their operations in the United States.

Currently, Gary Blom is the Executive Chairman of National Property Group. Their mission is to bring together diverse, trustworthy and exhaustive data sources from right across the public and private sectors, to facilitate access to the most comprehensive snapshot of Australia’s property market.
